Our annual GCSE Showcases and Sixth Form IB Music Recital takes place in term 3. These are formal evenings in which GCSE and sixth form IB music students perform to family members to show what they have been working on during the year. Parents are invited to come and watch for free. These events are calm evenings with a great atmosphere allowing students to experience the pressure of performing when it matters.
We hold two evenings for GCSE students - both for year 11 and then year 10 students respectively. For the year 10 GCSE students it may well be the first time they will have performed to a public audience. For year 11, their performances count towards their final coursework submissions - 30% of their qualification.
The IB Recital evening is part of their Presenting Music unit so just like the year 11 students, their performances are part of their final qualification.
